38 weeks and contractions for 6 hours is it true or false labour?

My wife has been having contractions for 6 hours now, they are 20mins apart although she did have an hour gap at one point and don't seem to be getting closer apart from a couple at 15mins apart.

The pain hasn't worsened yet, but moving doesn't stop them

Is this likely to be the real deal or just Braxton Hicks still?

She does say they feel different to previous braxton hicks.38 weeks and contractions for 6 hours is it true or false labour?
Congratulations dad, sounds like your gonna meet your baby in the ext 24 hours. How exciting.

They say true labour is when you move positions during contractions and it doesn't go away. Basically you can rule out indigestion or other pains associated with gas etc...

There far enough apart to be early stages of labour possibly 1 or 2cm dilated, so there's plenty of time to relax as much as possible and make all the necessary arrangements for the trip to hospital later on. Depending on how far you are from hospital you can generally wait until the contractions are 5 mins apart. Good luck and enjoy your new baby!!!38 weeks and contractions for 6 hours is it true or false labour?
It sounds like she's having true contractions. They will get closer together as the labor progresses. I had contractions for about 12 hours starting about every 30 minutes it lasted all day like that toward the evening they had made their way to four minutes apart. I would take this time to get everything around that you need, finish any baby shopping, anything to keep her busy so she's not focused on just sitting there. I went garage saling the whole day I was having contractions and then went to dinner, it made the time go faster. Congratulations!
I don't think the rough sex would help when she's contracting that often. There's a chance of it being false, but do your best to comfort her. It sounds like the real deal, because of the timing and that changing positions doesn't really seem to considerably stop the pain. If she says she feels different, it could very well be true labor, congrats! Wait it out before you go to the hospital if thats your plan, its much more comfortable being in labor at home.
It's quite possible that it's the real thing I'd make sure you have every thing ready to go so when her contractions end up being 10 mins apart you can head to the hospital.

Good luck and congratulations.

Only time will tell if it's the real thing.
