Is it true or false about female yearly check up?

If you get a check up (pap smear) will the results explain if there are anything such as polyps or anything else that is in the uterus? Is it true or false about female yearly check up?
No. Pap smears can only detect abnormal changes with the cervix and some vaginal infections/STD's. It can't detect problems inside the uterus.

Edit-

The guy who told you that polyps protrude through the cervix from the uterus is wrong. That MIGHT be possible, but certainly not true in all cases. They usually do a pelvic ultrasound. You can't feel the inside of a uterus to know what all lies within.

a polyp is usually a clinical diagnosis. That means a uterine polyp would be seen during the pelvic exam, as it protrudes through the cervical os. The pap smear reports abnormalities with the cells of the cervix, and if present, will determine if HPV, a cancer predictor, is present. And yes, it is recommended yearly.

pap smears, while they may indicate yeast cells or BV, or trichomonas present, are not the test of choice if you suspect an STD. That would be done with another swab and sent for a seperate test if there is an indication to do so.

Edit; cervical polyps can and do protrude through the cervix and that is how most are found. These polyps are benign in most cases and usually cause no symptoms. They can at times cause abnormal painless bleeding which would be a symptom that would prompt an additional test such as an ultrasound. Nobody does an ultrasound to see if there are polyps on any screening exam. Most polyps are in fact removed during a pelvic exam and prompts no further testing if everything else is normal.
When you get a pap smear, they check for many things. I'm not sure about polyps.. only because I'm not sure what it is, but they check for cervical cancer, chlamydia, and other things that could be harmful to you.

It does not hurt, its only uncomfortable the first time and its good for your health to know whats going on.
A pap usually determine if you have infections or STD's...if you want to check for polyps they can clamp a small piece from the uterine wall...but more than likely you will need to get an ultrasound to get a full visual of what may be on the uterus.
Pap smear shows if all the cells in your cervix are normal and healthy.
