The terms oderless and colorless are quantitative terms.
It says answer true or false, and if it's false, fix the underlined word.
The underlined word is Quantitative.I'm doing my Chemistry homework and there is a true or false question I can't figure out?
Definitely FALSE. They're qualitative.
If they were quantitative, you'd easily be able to describe them using numbers.I'm doing my Chemistry homework and there is a true or false question I can't figure out?
Quantitative - using an analysis that gives a precise answer.
Qualitative - using an analysis that gives an broad answer.
An example of quantitative is I can analyze a sample for Hg using a direct mercury analyzer, if I get an answer of 247ug, that is a qualitative answer.
however, say I used Hg indicator paper, and it told me that yes there is Hg present. That would be a broader answer.
So odorless is the broad answer, a number indicating how odorless it is in a value would be quantitative. Same holds true for colorless.
Hope that explains it.
false. qualitative
